The stories we tell ourselves workshops at RAYS Summit

At the first-ever Rainforest Youth Summit in Kuching, Sarawak, young leaders from 10 Asian countries gathered alongside over 1,000 delegates and 30+ speakers to set a collective agenda for a sustainable and climate-resilient future. This milestone event brought together activists, innovators, and community voices united by one mission: protecting our planet.

As part of the summit, Waves to Home facilitated two signature Storytelling workshops, engaging 50 climate activists and youth leaders from across the region. These sessions invited participants to explore the personal narratives that shape their identities, motivations, and approaches to climate action.

Through reflective exercises, guided storytelling techniques, and meaningful group conversations, young leaders dug deeper into the stories they tell themselves—and how those stories influence the way they show up in the world. The workshops highlighted the powerful intersection between storytelling and human connection, demonstrating how personal narratives can inspire collective transformation.

The energy in the room was one of openness, curiosity, and courage. Participants not only strengthened their storytelling skills but also built new bonds, discovered shared experiences, and reconnected with their purpose as changemakers.

Waves to Home is honored to have contributed to this historic gathering and remains committed to supporting youth voices that are reshaping the future of climate action across Asia.
