One day, I decided to try drawing as a way of passing the time. I didn’t think that one today, I’m gonna use it to express my feelings.

As a Lebanese person, you can never say anything except that Lebanon is just a country. Lebanon is not a country, it’s a home, we really mean it when we say it. It’s not only the red, white, and green flag you see on a screen or a building. It’s a way of living. We breathe Lebanon. And if someone asked you to describe this home, you would never forget to mention our beautiful nature full of green trees in summer, and the mountains wearing its white snow coat in winter. And if you want to try something new, you go for a hike and end it with swimming in the freezing river water. They never lied when they said that Lebanon is Switzerland of the east (سويسرا الشرق) 

 War will never change that image. It will never change this country. It will never change its therapy for us. You can erase us, you can destroy our houses, but you will never erase our home

It’s either Lebanon, or Lebanon—and nothing else.

And don’t forget: Lebanon lives within us; it’s not us who live in it.

بيوم من الايام، قررت جرّب ارسم كوسيلة لتمضية الوقت. ما كنت بتوَقَّع انو اليوم رح استخدم الرسم لعبّر عن مشاعري…

 ك لبناني، ما بتقدر تقول غير انو لبنان مش بلد، لبنان وطن ملجأ مسكن بيت، سميه الي بدك ياه، بس هو شي منحسه مش منعيش فيه. هو مش العلم الاحمر، و الابيض، و الاخضر الي بتشوفوا على الشاشة او على شباك بناية. لبنان هو نمط حياة. نحنا منتنفس لبنان. و اذا اجا حدا طلب منا نوصفه، ما فينا ما نذكر الطبيعة الي مليانة اشجار خضرة بالصيف، و الجبال المغطاية بثوبها الثلجي الابيض بالشتاء. و اذا عبالك تجرب شي جديد، ف ما في احلى من المشي بالطبيعة و تخلصها بسباحة بمية النهر المسقعة. 

صدقوني ما كذّبوا لما قالوا لبنان هو سويسرا الشرق. الحرب ما بعمرها حتغير هيدي الصورة، بحياتها ما ح تغير هيدا الوطن، مستحيل تغير فكرة انو لبنان العلاج لإلنا. فيكن تمحونا، و فيكن اتدمروا منازلنا، بس بعمركن م حتمحوا وطنا.

هو يا اما لبنان، يا اما لبنان، ولا شي غير. 

وما تنسوا، لبنان الي عايش فينا مش نحنا الي عايشين فيه.
